We are quickly leaving the era of loyalty, patriotism, faithfulness and virtue. People are intellectually smart but morally foolish. People readily make a vow of marriage or an oath of commitment to an employer, but then in a brief period of time, dissolution happens.
Our young people are confused about their gender and question all established authority and history. To many, everything is a joke, a riddle and the old fashioned ethics and absolutes are scoffed at.
The gate has been flung open to the knowledge of good and evil and our children are gagging on its fruit. There is a war to preserve virtue, honesty, integrity and accountability. Sadly, we are losing.
There is an identity crisis that is contagious in our society. It has been creeping in for a few decades and even sociologists are struggling to name it. The lines of right and wrong are blurred by individual preferences rather than a Biblical authority. There are no bearded men with sandwich boards claiming the end is near, so REPENT. No, apathy and indifference seem to be the passive force of society. Toleration of sin, compromise with what’s right and moral and a criticism of anyone who disagrees.
Yet, down deep, they too fear death, cancer, isolation and the unknown.
Now is the time to provide answers from God’s word. We have lost Billy Graham. Charles Stanley, John MacArthur, R. C. Sproul and many other giants of faith of the Hebrews 11 parade. It is time to step up, speak out, hang in there and press onward.
